In an effort to promote transparency and assist the members of the HOA, the trustees have decided to make available certain financial information relating to the month-to-month operations of the association. There are a couple of items worth mentioning at the outset:
The trustees are not accountants, and no HOA money was spent putting this information together. Accordingly, the information is in a relatively simple, no-frills format.
Up until summer of 2008, there were no homeowner trustees. The only trustees were representatives of The Jones Co. and Rodney G'Sell.
The management company, DNI, had very little formal oversight from the most interested parties (the homeowners) and to a certain extent didn't need to explain its actions to the homeowners.
All of this data was assembled from DNI records, as no homeowner trustee was directly involved with the operations before summer of this year. This means that, while you might be really interested to find out what the $6.00 miscellaneous deposit was from 2006, we just might not know because we weren't there. There are holes in the data, and we have done the best we can with the records kept by DNI.
